A curated jewelry edit for the September babe
The toughest gemstone gets its time in the spotlight! Yes, that’s your birthstone September babes, wear them with pride. In celebration of your birth month, we did a little digging (literally) to learn more about the resilient gemstone that is your birthstone, Sapphire. These are one of the toughest gemstones out there. Did you know that because sapphires are so durable, some watch companies put sapphire crystals in the faces of their watches? In order to give the watch a scratch-resistant finish, they pull from the power of sapphires to help protect the glass. To improve the overall color and clarity of a sapphire, it undergoes a heat treatment. This permanent and ethical practice helps to ensure that the gem is preventative of chipping or breaking.Sapphires are found all over the world. The most popular places to find a sapphire are Australia, Tanzania, Thailand, and Madagascar. These gems get their traditional blue color from the elements iron and titanium found within each sapphire. When the element corundum is found in the gem, it can start to take on a pink or red color. From engagement rings to new fine jewelry pieces we’ve curated a jewelry edit that encompasses the power of these small, natural wonders.
