A curated jewelry edit for the January babe
Hey there New Year babes, it’s your time to shine. In celebration of your birth month (and to the start of a brighter year), we did a little digging (literally) to learn more about the health providing gemstone that is your birthstone Garnet.Dating back to 3,800 BC in Ancient Egypt, the Garnet was depicted in Egyptian art and was thought to be an essential symbol of good health. Garnet also enhances the karma of the wearer as well as holding a symbol of peace, health, and deep friendship. In the Victorian Era, many glass stones were mistaken for the true garnet gemstone. Because of this misconception, people started producing doublets. Doublets are pieces of genuine Garnet that are fused to a piece of glass. The end result is a larger stone that is created and sold for less money.Did you know that the word Garnet is derived from the Middle English word “gernet”. This means dark red which comes from the Latin word “granatum” which means seed. In the end, this connects the meaning of the garnet gemstone to the red seeds of the pomegranate 💓! Garnet gemstones come in many varieties of colors. These are known as hybrids as they are a combination of two types of garnet stone. Fun fact: the least likely color of garnet is blue! From Rosette Studs to Pave Amulet Rings, we’ve curated a jewelry edit that encompasses the power of this small, natural wonder.
Our Rosette Stud Earrings feature an inverted garnet gemstone surrounded by champagne diamonds. These studs are set in your choice of 14k recycled yellow, white or rose gold.
Garnet displayed in every spectrum of the color of red! Pictured above (L to R): Bea Stardust Studs, Petite Pear Luna Necklace, and Diamond Dusted Meridian Stud.
To see the true dark red meaning of the garnet name, look to our Wheat Engagement Ring. With this ring on your finger, you will receive all of the health aid that this gemstone provides! Garnet’s are known to help relieve problems such as inflammation, circulation, and heart ailments.
